Brief
Channel 4, a British company, has ordered this video for the Short Shorts project as part of their new strand ABFAB. They wanted to see something new that would be new to a British audience. The video was supposed to contain infographics, attract attention and have a simple design in the style of the designer Saul Bass.
Story outline
In the Arctic region of Russia there is a problem: the Lena River blocks road and shipping communication with the mainland twice a year, the capital of the Republic of Sakha Yakutia, the city of Yakutsk. People try to attract the attention of the government to this problem. Solving this problem would help make life easier for people in the far North.
Solution
I decided to use flat animation, cold colors to emphasize the cold and difficult conditions of life in the North. But I added vibrant colors to create contrast. In 20 seconds I managed to reveal the problem and show how the problem can be solved
